Shanna Siegel, RN, BSN
Supervising Public Health Educator, Public Information Officer, Putnam County Dept of Health
Board Member

Shanna Siegel, RN, BSN, has over 20 years of experience working in the health field. After graduating from Binghamton University in 2004, Shanna began her career delivering comprehensive sexual health education and coordinating a teen peer education program. With a dedication to reproductive health and justice, Shanna wanted to dive deeper into the clinical side of the field. She went on to earn her BSN from Concordia College and worked as a Registered Nurse in labor and delivery before joining the Putnam County Department of Health in 2018 as a Maternal-Child Health Nurse. In this role, she provided postpartum homecare, including lactation support and early childhood developmental screenings.

In her current roles as Supervising Public Health Educator and Public Information Officer, Shanna believes that people are most empowered to make informed decisions about their health when they have reliable access to accurate and culturally appropriate information. She enjoys working closely with community members and local agencies to address systemic and societal barriers to optimal health.
