Anna joined the Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center (CHAHEC) as Pipeline Program Coordinator in June 2023. Her work experience began in 2012 when she interned at Sun River Health, a local federally qualified health center. Over the last few years, she has worked in direct patient care for other healthcare facilities, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic. She later transitioned to public health, intending to utilize her background to strengthen the healthcare system's functionality and address the mass exodus of healthcare workers.
As part of AHEC's efforts to improve healthcare quality in disadvantaged communities, she hopes to aid in diversifying and expanding the healthcare workforce, assuring better access to equitable healthcare. In her role as Pipeline Program Coordinator, she aims to do so by inspiring local youth to pursue healthcare careers. She aims to provide young people with the information necessary to make informed decisions regarding healthcare professions. She believes that this will ensure a brighter future for patient care. She feels that the younger generations have the potential to become a driving force for future innovations that will positively alter healthcare, ultimately improving patient care and health outcomes.
Anna earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Albany, majoring in human biology with a minor in public health. She is pursuing her master's degree in public health (MPH) at Boston University. She is dedicated to her academic and professional endeavors by expanding her knowledge base to hone the necessary skillset for creating meaningful change to help others. Anna enjoys being part of CHAHEC's aspirational team. She is thrilled to collaborate, learn from, and grow alongside her peers while working towards the organization's mission.
