Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death among New Yorkers.
Colorectal cancer (also called colon cancer) is cancer that starts in the colon or rectum. The colon and rectum are part of the body’s digestive system. Abnormal growths (called polyps) begin in the colon or rectum and, over time, can become cancer.
Finding cancer early can significantly improve outcomes. Screening can also help prevent colorectal cancer by finding polyps so that they can be removed before they turn into cancer. All individuals between the ages of 45 and 75 should get screened for colorectal cancer.

Cancer Services Program of the Hudson Valley
The Cancer Services Program (CSP) of the Hudson Valley provides free breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screenings and follow-up (diagnostic) services at NO COST to eligible uninsured and underinsured New Yorkers. The CSP of Hudson Valley serves Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties.

If you don’t have insurance or have a high co-pay or deductible, you can get lower cost health care, based on your income.
