Connecting Students to Careers, Professionals to Communities,
and Communities to Better Health

Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center’s (CHAHEC) primary goal is to support the healthcare workforce of medically underserved communities across the counties of Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Otsego, Putnam, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster in New York State. Working collaboratively with community partners, CHAHEC provides educational career exploration programs for youth, develops opportunities and and placements in underserved communities for health professions students, and organizes continuing education and professional development programs for existing health professionals.

This free online presentation focuses on the history of our current opioid epidemic and how it is affecting communities across the Hudson Valley, highlighting the older adult demographic. The recommended audience for this video is older adults, family, community, and caretakers.
